Ways To Get To The Holiday Cottage

La Retraite - Holiday Home In Brittany

Ports

St Malo

St Malo is the nearest port to the holiday cottage. It is a 35 minute drive from the port to gite.  You can get to
St Malo using  Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth or Condor Ferries from Weymouth and Poole.

The crossing from Portsmouth with Brittany Ferries is an overnight journey. Condor Ferries do fast crossings
, 4hrs 35 minutes from Poole or 5hrs 15 minutes from Weymouth.

Cherbourg

Cherbourg is 137 miles from our holiday cottage in Brittany, this should be about  a 2 1/2 hour drive.

It is possible to get to Cherbourg with Brittany Ferries from Poole,  on a  day time crossing (4 1/4 hours),
overnight crossing (5 3/4 hours) or on a fast ferry which can  take as little as 2 hours 15 minutes.

Eastern Channel Ports

Dieppe,Calais,Boulougne and Dunkerque are served by a number of channel ferry  operators. The furthest
port away, Dunkerque  is 350 miles from the cottage and  can be reached in less than 6 1/2 hours. However I
would leave 7 hours  for a more leisurely journey.

The closest of the Eastern Channel ports, Dieppe, is 224 miles or about 4 hours drive away.  Calais is about
327 miles or a 5 1/2 hour to 6 hour drive away, but again this does not really leave time for breaks and it
would be worth adding a little extra time to this journey. The same applies to Boulogne which is about
306 miles away and can be reached from the cottage in less than 5 hours.
